The asymmetric ring of Hartland Tide III can be turned to produce many different aspects or, where space allows, enjoyed by moving around the sculpture.
Philip studied at Camberwell School of Art in the late 1960's. Much of his early career was spent working as an architectural, interior and funiture designer. Philip now spends his time on hands-on work creating individual contemporary bronze sculpture, including an ongoing exploration of the vessel form, cast in solid bronze.
Philip Hearsey's contemporary pieces are influenced and inspired by natural forms and the British Landscape - most notably the immensely strong sense of place where he lives and works, which is on the edge of England where it is interwoven and blurred with the welsh borders.
