Clare went to art school in Oxford and studied fine art and had been a couturier dress maker, a designer of tapestries and a ceramicist before she became a sculptor. In retrospect, she realised that all these professions were forms of sculpting. For the last ten years, she has devoted herself to understanding form and movement and reproducing it in bronze, stainless steel and sometimes a combination of both.
