Frank Jennings is an established artist who, for more than four decades, has focused on creating assemblages within the box format. His works are celebrated for their wit and impeccable craftsmanship.
Born in 1950, Frank was educated in Yorkshire and later in Canada, where he completed his M.A. in Visual Arts. Frank created his first boxes in 1971, whilst still a student on the Art Foundation Course in Bradford. He has now participated in well over 100 exhibitions that have ranged from the Northern Young Contemporaries to several Discerning Eye appearances and more recently the National Open Art Competition Exhibitions.
The box format has the duel capacity to elevate the mundane objects they contain and also to organize them in visual terms
About his work Frank has stated, “I have a lifetime interest in old fashioned and idiosyncratic museums, this combined with an insatiable appetite for collecting are the main passions that influence the work I create”.
